SEARCH GUIDE

On the left side of the database's interface, you will find a search box.
The search box allows you to search for documents by entering specific search criteria.
Enter your search criteria into the searchbox. The 'Title' search category is already prepared for immediate use.
By selecting the box labeled 'Title', you can choose from various categories such as: 'Title', 'Person' (Author or Translator), 'DDC', 'Year', 'Language', 'Database'. Multiple filters can be chosen by clicking on 'Add filter' and employing logical connections using boolean operators such as AND, OR and NOT to refine your search. You can search for books by a specific title or by a specific author, e.g.: books which title include phrase: 'Dialogues between Hylas and Philonous' OR books written by George Berkley. Filters can be removed at any time by clicking on 'Remove filter' By default, the criteria are applied to all types of documents: originals, translations and intermediary tranlsations. You can limit your search to a specific type of document ensure that red checkboxes at the top of the search box are appropriately selected. If you are interested in accessing documents that are available online, you can limit your search by selecting the checkbox next to the option 'Online accessible documents only'. After entering your search criteria, click on the magnifying glass icon to start the search.
Search results always display documents in pairs: Original - Translation and each document pair is displayed in a separate box.
In case of Intermediary Translations , the document results will be presented as a triple: Original - Intermediary Translation - Translation .
To enhance clarity, the Intermediary Translation can be concealed by clicking on '-' located on the left side of its box. To reveal the Intermediary Translation again, click on '+' located on the left side of its box.
Each resulting document can be clicked on to access its detailed view, which provides comprehensive information and the option to download the individual file with informations in .csv or .bib format and, if available, visit the page where the document can be accessed online. The detail view page of each document also allows users to click on the document's author or translator to access a page with their detailed information and list of all documents by that author or translator.
By default, the results are sorted in ascending order based on the year the orginal document was published . This, however can be modified.
Documents can be sorted by: year, title, person's name or DDC and it can be applied to either the Originals or Translations . The sorting can be either ascending or descending .

If you possess the necessary user rights and are logged in, you can export a CSV file containing the list of documents that resulted from your search.

To do so, click on 'Export CSV' and select the preferred location to save the file on your device.

Please note that for larger result sets, the exporting process may take some time.
